In March, Ram drivers were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to both own a piece of Ram history and do a little bit of good in the world at the same time. The first all-new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX to roll off the assembly line was put up for auction by Barret-Jackson Scottsdale, with the resulting $410,000-worth of proceeds being donated to the United Way for Southeast Michigan’s 2-1-1 helpline.
“We’re thrilled that the first Ram 1500 TRX raised significant funds that will go directly to the United Way for Southeast Michigan’s 2-1-1 helpline to provide services to veterans and their families,” said Ram Brand Chief Executive Officer Mike Koval Jr.
This powerful vehicle is one of only 702 units of the new truck’s Launch Edition in existence. The production number was chosen to celebrate the Ram 1500 TRX’s unprecedented 702-horsepower capability. The other 701 units sold out in less than three hours on Ram’s website. But to make this version all the more special, it wore VIN 001, meaning it’s the first of its rare breed. Which is why it commanded the high gavel price that it did — and all for a great cause.
