Dodge and Ram recently outperformed other mass-market brands in the 2020 J.D. Power APEAL Study earning first and second place, respectively. These impressive results show that drivers are more emotionally attached to their Dodge and Ram vehicles than to other vehicles.
J.D. Power conducts its APEAL Study by getting customer feedback on the latest vehicles. Owners review their vehicles’ throttle response, seating comfort and more throughout the first three months of ownership. Then, J.D. Power aggregates the feedback on a 1,000-point index.
With its first-place ranking, Dodge is the first-ever domestic brand to top both the J.D. Power APEAL Study and Initial Quality Study within a single year. Dodge earned a score of 872 in the APEAL Study, which is just point higher than the Ram score. Each brand far-surpassed the mass-market brand average of 838.
In the competitive Midsize Sporty Car segment, the Dodge Challenger had the highest ranking, while the Ram 1500 topped the Large Light-duty Pickup category. The Dodge Charger and the Chrysler Pacifica also earned second place in the Large Car and Minivan segments, respectively. Meanwhile, the Dodge Durango received a respectable third place in the Upper Midsize SUVs category.
